This in fact is an album of remixes of some Portrait of an American family songs. We can find versions a lot more oriented towards industrial (on some tracks, guitars are totally absent) and even more crazy than the original ones.
This album also includes three remixes, one of which is made by Patti Smith (Rock n Roll Nigger) and a superb version of Sweet Dreams from Eurythmics, song that Manson and his band decided to remix in order to "show the dark side of the song that did not really appear on the original song".

Commentary from: Bhumi from France This is more a succession of big wicked than a reel album….for example : the intro, full of weird sounds, kids crying, bells that ring in a vampire style…. Or more "f… Frankie" where we are glad not to know what Marilyn is doing to Frankie… Please note an acoustic version of "White Trash" also totally crazy….shouldn't be forgotten a wonderful version of "Sweet Dreams" who brought Marilyn Manson world stardom. Should be listened too with the "repeat" button switched on and with huge speakers ! |
