Last Tour On Earth
One will easily understand that Manson prefered to wait until four albums were out (or should I say three and a half, Smell Like Children being made of remixes, and various "noises") before recording a live album.
The tour consecutive to Mechanical Animals; rid of the outrageous blasphematory caracter of Antichrist Superstar; had unfortunately lost some of its magic (in all the meanings of the word, a conception other black metal groups occult-lovers share) and this diminution of regime is all the more noticeable that on The Last Tour on Earth which is noticably over-produced.
Have been remixed in studio, only rare diatribes of the repulsing/charismatic (please unquote the useless term) Manson and the public's interventions remind us that we are speaking about a live album. A little too focused on Mechanical Animals to the disadvantage of Portrait Of An American Family (as an example, "Cake and Sodomy" does not figure on the album). The last tour on Earth will been seen as a Best-of.
Album out in 1999

Commentary from Oliver (Paris)
Live and only Live ! And a very good Live, a little too much some people could say. One must admit that the Cd is very well produced and recorded which may be the reason for some fans to complain about. Songs with a too perfect sound, without any wrong note. What did you expect? M Manson is a perfectionist and one won't complain to have both a cool concert and a great album ! It makes a change compared to the majority of lives, often unbearable and having no interest, except for real fans. Should be recommended for all weird-atmosphere-lovers.
