The last in terms of chronology and the first of the Manson trilogy.
It also is the one I like most. It's a very good album, with a magnificent level with some superb songs and some others pretty good too. Opinions vary however, some fans don't think it his best album….well I'm just here to tell you what I think about it, over points of view are welcome.

The commentary
Commentary of: François (Belgium)
"I never really hated the one true God, but the God of the people I hated" : here is a summary pretty useful ! Manson declares war to the medias accomplices of religion-trusting people and businessmen. "Pucked up and down in morbid faith, you should have seen the ratings that day" (concerns the Columbine slaughter whose Pastor was wrongly accused to have been a source of inspiration). Finally, it is a very "conceptual" album pretty rich and pleasant even if the first part mustn't have demanded too much effort…. The following parts include some pretty nice bits, rather detached from the influence of the first part (ahhh, "The death song"….enjoy). And as usual, I advise you to read the lyrics (they haven't been printed for nothing don't you think?) If one had to speak about poetry, one would find echoes of William Burroughs (very subjective opinion). A pretty good disk in general, where the darkness of Antichrist Superstar leaves place to a little ray of light : that of cold hatred against the weak, in the Nietzsche an meaning of the term (of course) the Beautiful People. The interest of Manson relies as much if not more in his speech than in his music, however one should recognize that he has worked on Trent's lessons and that Manson is also a gifted songwriter, certainly as much as Kurt Cobain (simple, efficient, tenacious). His albums don't age either. A real masterpiece, as usual and also a declaration of war.
